Why is football stadium cleaning important

Football stadiums can get very messy as there are many fans which enter the stadium and leave it in a unorganised and untidy manner. It really cannot help that football fans generally see going to a stadium as a release from the pressures of daily life and actually endeavour to make it a fun occasion, full of alcohol and cheering. This can lead them to be a little too relaxed however and make the football stadium not a very tidy place.

There are numerous reasons why cleaning a football stadium is important. The first is that often a football stadium needs to be in good condition to attract the fans. Although they will be in a relaxed mood as they queue to get into the football stadium, they still want it to be clean and in good condition. If it is not, it can be a deterrent to them entering the ground and cause a lot of problems.

The first may be that football clubs will lose revenue from fans not going into the ground. This could affect their long term financial future and it could really make them not be solvent in the future and even shut down if they lose their fanbase. This is a serious issue and one which may not always be cured if the stadium is not clean.

There are also health and safety reasons which mean that the football stadium should stay clean. If there are many food packets, empty beer cans and other litter strewn all out all over the place, then fans could trip and harm themselves. This is not a situation which any football club wants to find themselves in as this could mean legal action and some hefty fines coming their way. Furthermore, it could also have the implication that they get a bad reputation in the community if they are seen to be 'damaging' their fans and not caring for their welfare as the stadium is cleaned insufficiently. This could mean that people are more wary to come to a football match concerning them and this could lead to them not actually entering the footballing equivalent of being financially solvent, which is what most clubs would want.

Furthermore, another reason for getting football stadiums cleaned is that one should always want to have things clean so that the fans can enjoy themselves. For a lot of fans, they just want to come to a ground and be happy with the conditions and just meet up with their friends. They do not want to be bothered by the irritations of not having a clean football ground. It is a real highlight of their week to come to a football ground and the last thing that they want to do is to be bothered by litter and mess.

If a football team keeps their ground clean then this can have some important benefits and really build a rapport with the supporters. It can attract trade and look after the financial future of the club.
